Is this man Coniah a despised, broken idol? Is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? Why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

Is this man Koniyahu a despised, broken pot, an instrument nobody wants? Why are they being thrown out? Why are he and his offspring thrown out into a country they do not know?
Jehoiachin, you are unwanted like a broken clay pot. So you and your children will be thrown into a country you know nothing about.

Is this man Jechonias an earthen and a broken vessel? is he a vessel wherein there is no pleasure? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
Jehoiachin is like a broken pot that someone threw away. He is like a pot that no one wants. Why will Jehoiachin and his children be thrown out and sent away into a foreign land?
This man Jeconiah will be like a broken pot. It is a clay pot that nobody wants any more. He and his children will go as prisoners to a foreign country. They will live in a country that they do not know. Why will that happen to them?

This Jehoiakin is like a rejected and broken pot that no one wants. Is that why he and his descendants will be thrown out and cast into another land they’ve never heard of?
I said, “Has King Jehoiachin become like a broken jar that is thrown away and that no one wants? Is that why he and his children have been taken into exile to a land they know nothing about?”

This man Coniah is like a discarded, broken dish. He and his children will be exiled to distant lands.
Is Jehoiachin a leaky bucket, a rusted-out pail good for nothing? Why else would he be thrown away, he and his children, thrown away to a foreign place? O land, land, land, listen to God’s Message! This is God’s verdict: “Write this man off as if he were childless, a man who will never amount to anything. Nothing will ever come of his life. He’s the end of the line, the last of the kings.”
